Larry Neuman, along with his wife, Carol, were selected by the American Israelite for a profile article in its quarterly publication in recognition of their 35 years of service to The Jewish Community of Cincinnati.

Frank Klaine was on the faculty of the Cincinnati Bar Association Seminar on Local Government Law. His presentation was entitled Initiative and Referendum. Mr. Klaine is the City Solicitor for the City of Wyoming and the City of Loveland.

Jim Heldman was invited by Mayor Mark Mallory to speak at a seminar on Franchise Opportunities for Women, Minorities, and Veterans. His presentation was entitled Legal Aspects of Franchising. The seminar was sponsored by the International Franchise Association, in partnership with the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce and the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency.

Paul Calico and Claudia Allen were the featured speakers at a Cincinnati Better Business Bureau’s Professional Series Seminar, The Employment Law Minefield: How to Survive in Today’s Litigious Environment. Mr. Calico spoke about legal and practical issues relating to discrimination and harassment as well as the discipline and termination of problem employees. Ms. Allen spoke on the topics of employment manuals, FMLA, ADA, and Employment Benefits.

Paul Calico, Claudia Allen, and Charles Ashdown and spoke at a BRL Educational Services statewide seminar for the Ohio Pawnbrokers Association. Their presentations addressed employment law and benefits and practical and legal issues affecting the profession.

Tom Stachler, Shawn Young Charlie Melville, and spoke at a meeting of the Manufacturer’s Agents of Cincinnati (MAC), a local chapter of Manufacturer’s Agents National Association (MANA). Their presentation was on current legal issues, including contract considerations, available alternatives for the choice of business entity, and a variety of legal concerns.

Tom Stachler will speak at a Cincinnati Bar Association Young Lawyers Section seminar on the topic of Trial Skills: Top Tips for Taking a Deposition. Jason Tonne is the Chair of the YLS CLE Planning Committee.

Jason Tonne was elected Chair of the Colerain Township Board of Zoning Appeals. Mr. Tonne, along with Philomena Ashdown, also spoke at a recent seminar entitled Foreclosure Procedures in Ohio, Including Bankruptcy Issues. Ms. Ashdown spoke on the topics of Tenant Bankruptcy During Foreclosure and Ethical Issues and Due Diligence. Mr. Tonne spoke about Evictions and Ejectments.

Philomena Ashdown made a presentation at Dress for Success®, Cincinnati’s first annual Networking Gala in partnership with the Mercy Health Partners young women’s group. The project provides mentoring for young women who attend a second-chance high school.
