Bill Strauss, President of Strauss & Troy, was among former presidents of the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute who were honored for their leadership and guidance at an annual fundraising event. The Institute is an educational organization that trains and accredits psychoanalysts. It is widely recognized for its dedication to the learning, teaching, research and application of psychoanalytic knowledge.

Strauss & Troy congratulates Tom Rink on his ten years of service on the Indian Hill Council. He has served as Mayor the last four years and was on the Indian Hill Planning Commission for the frst six years of service.

Paul Calico was a featured speaker at the meeting of the Northern Kentucky chapter of the American Inns of Court. Inns of Court are an amalgam of judges, lawyers, law professors, and law students, designed to improve the skills, professionalism, and ethics of the bench and bar. Paul’s presentation was entitled An Insider’s Guide to Effective Dispute Resolution. Mr. Calico was also the featured speaker at a presentation for the Employment Law Club at the University of Cincinnati College of Law on the topic “Employment Law Today: How to Make a Difference.”

Claudia Allen is teaching a seminar on Employee Benefts at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Ms. Allen has been an adjunct professor at the UC Law School since 2003.

Strauss & Troy is pleased to announce that Lori A. Ross and C. Richard Colvin have become Shareholders.

Ms. Ross is a member of the frm’s Litigation Department and practices in all areas of federal and state litigation, with an emphasis in commercial, constitutional, contract, and employment law. She is admitted to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Ms. Ross graduated from Miami University Magna Cum Laude (B.A. 1997) and from the University of Cincinnati (J.D. 2000) as a member of the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Colvin practices in the areas of corporate law, business law, and business litigation. He is a member of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association Business and Tax Section. He is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky and is based in the frm’s Kentucky office. He is admitted in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Mr. Colvin graduated from Transylvania University Cum Laude (B.A. in Finance, 1992) and from Salmon P. Chase College of Law (J.D. 1995).

Strauss & Troy also welcomes its newest Associates, Brian Butler and Andrea Yang.

Mr. Butler graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University, with a double major in Political Science and Journalism, and received his J.D. degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where he served as the school’s liaison to the American Bar Association and was active in the Trial Advocacy program. He works in the frm’s Cincinnati office and practices in the area of litigation.

Ms. Yang graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Biology and Society and a Masters Degree in Regional Planning. She received her J.D. degree, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law, where she was Executive Editor of the Freedom Center Journal. Ms. Yang also works in the frm’s Cincinnati office, utilizing her planning background in the areas of real estate and land use.
