Mark Berliant was recently appointed as a member of the Hamilton County Tax Levy Review Committee, a county-appointed body that reviews county levy requests. Mark was recognized by the University of Virginia School of Law's "Lawyer" for his outstanding professional accomplishments and his noteworthy talent in the law.

Larry Neuman was recently elected to his sixth term as treasurer of Cedar Village Jewish retirement community, where he serves as a member of the Board, Executive Committee, and Endowment Committee, and is Chair of the Finance Committee. Larry is also a member of the Board and Finance Committee of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and the Jewish Cemeteries of Greater Cincinnati. Larry is past President of Yavneh Day School, now Rockwern Academy, and is Co-Chair of its Endowment Fund.

Jim Heldman was invited by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber to join its Middle Market Advisory Board. The Board advises the Chamber on key issues affecting mid-size businesses in the region, and determines how the Chamber can better understand and respond to the needs of such business members in the areas of economic development, government advocacy, business growth, and membership services.

Guy Taft was named a "Top Attorney in Business Services" in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation in the Corporate Counsel Edition of SuperLawyers Magazine.

Ann Gerwin was elected President of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Council. Ann has served on the Council's Board of Trustees and as Chairperson of the Educational Committee since 2006. In 2008, she was elected Vice President of the Council. The Council serves the Hyde Park Community and is a liaison with the City of Cincinnati.

Paul Calico was named a "Top Attorney in Civil Litigation" in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Corporate Counsel Edition of SuperLawyers Magazine.

Charles Ashdown was honored at an appreciation luncheon hosted by the Summer Work Experience in Law (SWEL) program, which offers African-American high school and college students the opportunity for summer internships with various private and public legal employers. Strauss & Troy has been an active participant in the program for over 20 years. This year's SWEL student was Taylor McCleod, who will begin his freshman year at Morehouse College in the fall.

Tom Stachler was asked to participate as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for a new legal treatise entitled Trial Preparation Tools, written by Beth D. Osowski and published by James Publishing Company.

Brian Eviston was appointed Chair of the Newport Central Catholic High School Family Fireworks Festival, which is held on the evening of Cincinnati Labor Day fireworks.
