KW Flooring

When Kurt Weisbacher began cleaning tile floors in 1946, he never imagined that his company would grow to the point that it would have over $50 million in annual revenue. Even when his son, Ken, came into the business in 1982, the tremendous growth was not anticipated. Through hard work and steady growth, the Weisbachers have developed KW Flooring into one of the twenty largest flooring dealers in the country. While consumers might not recognize the name kW Flooring, they would recognize many of the local flooring brands the company now owns.

Carpetland Carpet One has three local stores with a wide selection of mid- to high- end products, including carpet, hardwood, ceramic tile, sheet vinyl, laminate flooring, and more. Carpetland features “natural flooring,” environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing flooring products. Carpetland also excels at cleaning carpets and has pioneered cleaning programs that have been copied throughout the country. The Carpetland commercial and insurance replacement divisions lead the Cincinnati market area in providing specialized flooring used by schools, medical facilities, offices, and all other commercial entities. Over the years, Carpetland has received national and local acclaim for innovation in all aspects of the flooring industry.

Schumacher Custom Hardwood Flooring sells prefinished and unfinished hardwood floors and provides full-service sanding and refinishing. kW Flooring acquired this company in 2007 from Ken and Carolyn Schumacher, who continue to work at the company. Schumacher’s reputation in the hardwood industry is second to none; it receives requests from all over the country regarding its unique service and expertise.

At the end of 2007, kW Flooring also acquired the twelve Cincinnati and Dayton Buddy’s Carpet stores. Buddy’s has unparalleled brand recognition and is known for providing value with easy financing. Cincinnatians know they have a “Buddy in the Carpet Business” when they shop at Buddy’s. In the future, Buddy’s will take on the new moniker of “Buddy’s Flooring America” to highlight the full selection of flooring available at Buddy’s in addition to carpet.

Big Bob’s Flooring had its roots in the used carpet business, but today is known as the least expensive new flooring alternative in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus. Each of the five Big Bob’s stores is large enough to stock hundreds of rolls of carpet and pallets of hard surface flooring, allowing customers to take their purchases home immediately. One-of-a-kind merchandise and extreme values have made Big Bob’s a fun place for shoppers to find a bargain.

ProSource Wholesale Flooring is open to the trade only, selling to designers, contractors, remodelers, and others who purchase flooring on a regular basis for resale to their clients. The ProSource showroom displays the broadest selection of flooring materials anywhere in the Tri-State area. ProSource is open to its members 24/7 allowing customers to use the showroom as if it were their own.

While the Weisbachers have developed kW Flooring into one of the twenty largest flooring dealers in the country, their emphasis is still on taking care of customers one at a time. Each unique business entity has its core niche of customers. The individuals working with the customers understand their needs and do whatever is necessary to satisfy them. “Growth comes naturally when customers are floored.”
